Introduced as the successor to the FW15C, the champion machine that boasted overwhelming speed in the 1993 season. The FW16 will compete in the 1994 Grand Prix with Ayrton Senna, the best driver at the time.
The engine installed in the FW16 is the Renault V10 engine that has supported Williams' success since 1989. However, despite the engine's reliability and power, high-tech technologies such as active suspension were banned midway through the 1993 season, causing delays and confusion in the development of the FW16 machine. Designed by Patrick Head and Adrian Newey, the FW16 was designed with an emphasis on aerodynamics, making it a nervous machine to control, and even Senna struggled to control its behavior from the pre-season test.
In the 1994 season, Senna took pole position in the first two races, but Benetton's Michael Schumacher won and Senna retired from both races.
Although he had the competitive power in FW16, he still remained nervous about machine control as the race approached the final day of the third race, the San Marino Grand Prix, on May 1, 1994.

The FW16 was the 1994 season entry from the Williams team - the successor to the champion machine FW15C from the 1993 season. it was piloted by Aryton Senna - the best driver of the time.
The FW16 was equipped with the Renault V10 engine that the team had been using since 1989. However, due to the ban of electronic driver aids such as active suspension that was put into place midway during the 1993 season the FW16 was not able to perform properly with the engine. While designers Adrian Newey and Patrick Head designed the car to take advantage of aerodynamics, it in turn made the car extremely hard to handle, and even a seasoned driver such as Senna had problems driving the vehicle.
While Senna qualified for pole position in the first two rounds of the season he would eventually retire from both races, with Michael Schumacher from the Benetton team winning those races instead.
With handling issues unsolved the FW16 would enter the third race of the season, the San Marino GP, on May 1st, 1994

■Unlike the previously released "1/12scale Fulldetail Kit: Williams FW16 (K495/K496/K497)" kit, the engine part has been made into white metal parts, more milled aluminum parts, and other parts and decals have been revised. Masu.
■The decal of the main sponsor part is made by Cult Graph.
■A. Sena figure in a standing pose is included. Helmet and suit decals are also included.
■Comes with a metal plate with a serial number indicating the limited edition of 200 pieces. (Serial numbers will be randomly enclosed, not on a first-come, first-served basis.)
■Multi-material kit using white metal, urethane resin, sawn aluminum, etched parts, rubber tires, silk-screen printed decals, and various cords.
■Different from the opening two races, we have reproduced the San Marino GP specification equipped with a rear wing with two flaps for high-speed circuits, and modeled Car No. 2: A. Senna's car.
■The front nose, front suspension cover, and rear cowl are removable, allowing you to see the internal structure even after completion.
■Sponsor logos are printed on the tires.
