Model Factory Hiro are a Japanese company specialising in the manufacture of high quality Multimedia automotive kits for the advanced modeler.

MFH produce models in various standard scales: 1:12 for bikes, 1:12, 1:20 and 1:43 for Formula 1 kits and 1:24 and 1:43 for race cars. So far they have produced over 400 different models, most are Full detail kits (complete with engines/gearboxes) others are know as curbside and are easier to assemble with less parts.

Each month at least one new model is release, These may be in different versions,
e.g. The Lotus 49 : Lotus 49 Early Type - Lotus 49 Late Type or Lotus 49C Works and Rob Walker Version
and the Lotus 77 : Holland Grand Prix and Austria Grand Prix - Japan Grand Prix - Canada Grand Prix. so you can pick your favorite

Multi-media models are manufacture from a variety materials, thus the name, the body are usually cast in resin or white metal, the engines, suspension, chassis and other small parts are also white metal. Photoetch details are used where fine detail is required or where thin flat parts needs to be used, such as wing end plates on F1 cars.

Generally the wheels are CNC machined from aluminium as are other small round parts. All kits have rubber tyres (Model Factory Hiro vulcanise tyres in-house). High quality decals are supplied to finish the models to life like effect.

The instructions are well detailed diagrams taken from CAD assemblies showing where and how parts fit together.

Tips and Hints
Assembly is no different to a plastic kit, but here are a few tip to help you get the best from your model.

Wash all parts prior to painting to remove any mould release agents. If possible always use a Etch Primer/Metal Primer on metal parts, this keys into the metal making sure your paint does on peel off when being handled, you can also primer resin with Etch primer if needed.

Most small white metal parts can be bent with ease, so it is best to test fit assembles before gluing to check for fit, also checking if flash etc needs cleaning off. In some cases you might need to reshape body panels as well, but this is not difficult so don't worry.

Use Super Glue (CA) or 2 part Epoxy Glue on metal and resin as plastic glue will NOT work on these materials, they work by melting the plastic together.

We stock a large selection of the models available, but we can't stock all versions of each model all the time.

Once we have you order placed we will check stock availability with MFH in Japan, sadly some items maybe sold out in Japan without our knowledge, we get stock level updates monthly, but they can sell out in-between without us knowing. should this be the case we will inform you A.S.A.P. and refund you payment.

Orders are placed with Model Factory Hiro in Japan on the last day of the each month (30th/31st) for Special Order items, they usually arrive the 1st week of the next month (depending on Custom clearance times)

If you order on the 1st of the month, your order will not be placed with Japan until the 31st of the next month

This date is used as Model Factory Hiro issue new releases on approx. 28th of each month.
